If we are to practice prayer and meditation, it is infinitely simpler when we recognize the omnipotence of God, because then one is no longer seeking to discover it. The ground on which we walk, the air we breathe, the body we dwell in and everything everywhere, is demonstrating the living presence and creative pattern of this infinite Spirit of God. When we know this truth, we can just become still at any time of the day or night, and instantly abide in God’s Immaculate Perfection.

When all the words have been spoken, when all the words have been written about spiritual truth, unless all lead us into this practice of the living presence, we are missing the central objective – Be still and let God take dominion over you in love.

(Call Unto Me, Bro. Mandus)

It is in stillness and silence that we discover how to tune into the Infinite. This is the way to move on from “saying prayers” to living in an abandoned intimacy with the One from whom our heart or soul came into being. I come to rest in the presence of Love. I have no agenda except to rest in Love’s embrace. Out of this wordless surrender, a word or words may come – or not. Whatever chooses to speak in the heart of this embrace will naturally originate in the Love which birthed our being. Then our silence is flooded with the voice of the Beloved. This is the way of prayer which Jesus recommended when he said “pray in the secret place” – the inner sanctuary of your heart.  In this “secret place”, I can worship “in Spirit and in Truth” with complete abandon.

PRAYER IS nothing but the inhaling and exhaling of the one breath of the universe. (Hildegard of Bingen) Prayer is the ascent of the heart into God.

A Thanksgiving Prayer

O God, I delight myself in you, in the glory and splendour of your sacred presence, which is within me and all around me, and in everything under the sun, and yes, in the sun itself as well! You are so beautiful in all your creation; in all the people and places and birds and rocks and flowers and dogs and cats and ants and mountains and stars and in the sun and the moon and the clouds and the wind and the snow and the rain! You are so beautiful! You are so amazing!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Prayer of Mother Julian

God, of thy goodness, give me Thyself;
for Thou art enough for me,
and I can ask for nothing less
that can be full honour to Thee.
And if I ask anything that is less,
ever Shall I be in want,
for only in Thee have I all.”

(Julian of Norwich)

Universal Prayer

That I may see myself in all That I may love myself in all That I may serve myself in all Amen, Om, Amin.

Lead, Kindly Light

Lead, kindly Light, amid th’encircling gloom, lead Thou me on! The night is dark, and I am far from home; lead Thou me on! Keep Thou my feet; I do not ask to see The distant scene; one step enough for me.

I Consecrate My Life to Thee

Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee.

Praising the Holy Spirit

HOLY SPIRIT, making life alive, moving in all things, root of all created being, cleansing the cosmos of every impurity, effacing guilt, anointing wounds.

You are lustrous and praiseworthy life, You waken and re-awaken everything that is.

(Hildegard of Bingen)

Divine Forgiveness

We unload all the sins and burdens of the past And accept Divine Forgiveness here and now Thus we start life anew, reborn in His Spirit. We forgive completely everyone who has ever harmed us. In sending our love to them we pray Divine Love to enfold them.
